I just watched this live on TV..and Obama DOES NOT GET IT!.....He's either too arrogant and egotistical to see what happened yesterday, or he's just stupid...But trust me he DOES NOT GET IT....he thinks it's all about the fact that the economy hasn't come back fast enough and jobs....and that's certainly part of it...but it's also about his POLICIES, the corruption, the big government, the out of control spending, Obamacare, the wasted money on the stimulus, etc, etc, etc....
And TRUST ME Barack doesn't get it!
Obama admits he got a ’shellacking,’ but shows no sign of budging on core agenda
By Jon Ward - The Daily Caller | Published: 2:35 PM 11/03/2010 | Updated: 2:40 PM 11/03/2010
President Obama had a blunt response when asked Wednesday for how it felt to watch the Democratic Party suffer the worst electoral defeat in more than half a century.
“It feels bad,” Obama said, facing the White House press corps a day after the election. He labeled the results a “shellacking.”
But while the president took responsibility for doing a poor job on a few issues, and said he wants to work with Republicans on matters such as energy, education and political ethics, he made clear that he does not regret passing the health-care overhaul that was a major factor in driving voter discontent.
“We’d be misreading the election if we thought the American people want to see us, for the next to years, relitigate arguments we had over the last two years,” Obama said when asked about Republican promises to dismantle the health-care legislation.
When he was reminded that one in two voters said they opposed the health-care bill, Obama shot back that the statistic “also means one out of two voters thinks it was the right thing to do.”
Obama signaled he is unwilling to compromise on his support for allowing tax cuts for those making $250,000 and above to expire on Jan. 1.
When asked whether he “didn’t get it,” Obama bristled.
“I’m doing a whole lot of reflecting,” he said.
He did signal he would be willing to cut a provision in the health-care bill that would require businesses to submit 1099 forms for all business to business transactions over $600.
“If it ends up just being so much trouble that small businesses find it difficult to manage, that’s something we should take a look at it,” he said.
The president said that the economy and jobs was the main reason that Democrats suffered such a stinging loss. He said that his policies had made the economy better, but that “clearly too many Americans haven’t felt that progress yet, and they told us that yesterday.”
Later Obama acknowledged that while he does not believe the economy is going backward, “what you can argue is that we’re stuck in neutral.”
The president said he had not sufficiently worked with the business community or “[made] absolutely clear that the only way America succeeds is if businesses are succeeding.”
When asked whether he is out of touch with voters, Obama said that he may be perceived as such only because he spends too much time at the White House.
“There is a inherent danger in being in the White House and being in the bubble. Folks didn’t have any complaints about my leadership style when I was running around Iowa for a year. And they got a pretty good look at me up close and personal and they were able to lift the hood and kick the tires and they understood that my story was theirs,” Obama said.
“When you’re in this place, it is hard not to seem removed,” he said. “How do I meet my responsibilities here, here in the White House … but still have that opportunity to engage with the American people on a day to day basis, and give them confidence that I’m listening to them?”
Obama said that there was also something about an electoral rebuke to keep any commander-in-chief on his toes and aware of the will of the people.
“This is something every president needs to go through,” Obama said.
He added, to laughter: “I’m not recommending to every president that they take a shellacking like the one I took last night.”

A Great Night Last Night....Conservatives Dominate....My Comments...
Great Night Last Night....The American People spoke and rejected the corrupt, liberal, socialist moves forced upon them by Obama, his Administration and the Democrat Congress......Just a couple of disappointments.....Can't believe "Dirty" Harry Reid could get reelected....he's just short of senile, old school to say the least, and I just can't believe that responsible Americans could EVER vote for him...Also Barney Frank....he was instrumental in the financial collapse of this nation yet he got reelected....That is just criminal!!!!....And California????? They Deserve what they get....To elect that letch Jerry Brown as governor is just criminal...his acceptance speech as terrible last night...he had no message...he was just rambling and he just looked like an "old white guy"....and reelecting Barbara Boxer is just unbelievable.....they deserve what they get...if they continue to be bankrupt we need to just let them fail....If Californians are so stupid and to left wing, let them fend for themselves!!!!
No we'll see how Obama will react later this morning...he'll say the right things, but what his words and actions over the next several weeks....he will not change...He will not accept any responsibility for the loss....he won't really move to the center.....Unfortunately the American People will have to continue to fight him over the next two years until we can send him home in 2012!!!
Below is a great article by the Heritage Foundation....
Get to Work
My fellow conservatives,
The people have spoken. Reckless spending, stifling regulations, ever-rising taxes, endless debt and the looming government takeover of health care have brought this nation to a tipping point. Not surprisingly, the American people have now taken matters into their own hands.
How we got to that tipping point is clear. For too long, Washington’s preening elites have assumed that they knew best and that government was in itself the all-purpose solution to every perceived problem.
But the American people have a collective wisdom, and they expressed it yesterday. They took a stand and decided on a new direction because continuing down the path we’re currently on would mean the end of the American Dream.
They repudiated “change” that denies our character and tradition, and called instead for an American Renewal that taps our values. The message that came out of this election, I can assure you, was heard around the world. Everyone now knows that Americans remain a strong and free people, unbowed by adversity and unwilling to exchange their birthright of liberty for a perpetual stew of bureaucratic rule and government dependency.
But let’s be clear, now we must all get to work. The new Congress has a choice: answer the call of renewal or betray the hopes of the American people. It is time for conservatives to be conservative, and not backslide.
We here at The Heritage Foundation are inspired by your commitment to America’s principles, and bolstered by your demand for practical, conservative solutions to our common problems. We and our 700,000 members will work day and night to make sure Washington has heard you, too, for now the real work begins.
There is much work to be done by the new Congress. Heritage is issuing a set of five simple actions Congress must take in order to meet this mandate of the American people. These five priorities represent the bare minimum of what is expected of our new representatives. More will need to be done to get our nation back on the right track, but taking these actions represent a good start.
I recommend that you print out this document, share it with friends and family.
This list, which we call “Solutions for America: Get to Work”, is comprised of the following calls to action:
FREEZE AND CUT SPENDING: Congress should immediately freeze discretionary budget authority at 2010 levels; and cut at least $170 billion from the federal budget for fiscal year 2012. This is only a first step. In the past four years, Congress has approved more spending that even the bureaucrats can handle. Congress must immediately survey the unobligated balances of all appropriations made in the past four years and should reclaim these unspent taxpayer funds and use them to reduce the deficit.
REPEAL OBAMACARE: Congress must immediately pass a bill that repeals Obamacare. Until Congress is able to get the President to sign a law repealing Obamacare, it must withhold funding, block key provisions and override regulations carrying out Obamacare. Only after Obamacare is rejected, can Congress undertake a careful, thoughtful legislative process to make practical adjustments that allow the free market to provide affordable, effective health care insurance choices.
STOP THE OBAMA TAX HIKES: Congress must reject the Obama tax hikes, and make permanent the tax cuts of 2001 and 2003, thereby helping the economy grow and create more jobs.
PROTECT AMERICA: Congress must pass a budget resolution that won’t put our troops at risk or leave Americans vulnerable. It can do this by providing for defense an average of $720 billion per year (to be adjusted for inflation) for each of the next five fiscal years, in addition to the funding needed for ongoing contingency operations. Congress must make the defense budget as efficient as possible and reinvest dollars achieved from reforms in the military to offset the cost of modernizing and developing next-generation equipment.
GET CONTROL OF GOVERNMENT: Congress must immediately reestablish legislative accountability by posting complete legislation, ending earmarks, reviewing all unauthorized programs and respecting constitutional limits on government. Congress must check executive branch overreach with aggressive oversight, roll back recent government interventions, stop unnecessary administrative regulations and sunset new ones, restrict bureaucrats’ rulemaking authority and override executive orders.
Please see the full document here. Each of these things must be done if Washington is to fulfill its electoral mandate and meet its constitutional responsibilities.
We must not underestimate the difficulty of this task. This is but the beginning of a long recovery and renewal. There’s much to be done. We need to put an end to the crony capitalism that permeates so many of the outrages of these past two years. Government elites should not be picking winners and losers, giving bailouts to GM and waivers of the health care law to McDonald’s.
We must return to the states the authority and flexibility to solve problems best resolved at that level of government. Replace federal failure and incompetence with state ingenuity custom-tailored to solve local problems.
Many will say it cannot be done, and some will demean the people and trivialize their objectives. They will do so at their peril. That attitude ignores what has just taken place. Let us never overlook our noble purpose: to restore America, rebuild its limited government and revive a nation of unlimited possibilities--where freedom, opportunity, prosperity, and civil society flourish.
This is a pivotal time. The public mind is engaged, and the eyes of the people are on Washington to see if their government will listen to them once again. We must seize the moment, or the moment will be lost, and so might our country.
Americans have reached back to their roots and history to rediscover their traditions and values. There’s a reason the Tea Party took a name from one of our earliest revolutionary events. One of the worst things our President has done in his two years in office—on top of the spending, the overreach of health care and the inability to allow the private sector to create jobs—has been in comment after comment to disparage the people, their wisdom and their intelligence.
We must remain committed, stay focused, be ever vigilant -- and keep the faith.

Be on the Lookout for Voter Fraud or Voter Intimidation today when YOU VOTE!
This Article from the Heritage Foundations shows that Obama and his Administration to NOT have preventing voter fraud very high on their priority list....In fact some of their actions and the actions of the Department of Justice have made it more pervasive....When you vote today be on the lookout for anything that looks like voter intimidation or voter fraud....
Stopping Voter Fraud
Voter fraud happens. Just ask Olivia Alair, press secretary for the U.S. Department of Transportation. Alair was regional communications director for the 2008 election in Ohio under White House press secretary Robert Gibbs. In 2008, Alair and two other Obama campaign staffers registered to vote in Ohio. The problem was that Alair did not live in Ohio and had no permanent plans to do so. By Ohio law, this made her ineligible to register. Only after this was made public did Alair and her cohorts send letters asking that their registrations be canceled. If the press had never made this public, would Alair have gone ahead and committed a felony by voting? Only she knows. But her cavalier attitude toward our nation's voting laws permeates the entire Obama administration.
In 2004, an immigrant illegally registered to vote in Putnam County, Tenn., and then voted illegally. This is a felony three times over! 18 U.S.C. § 1015(f) makes it illegal to claim you are a U.S. citizen in order to register to vote for any election; 18 U.S.C. § 611 prohibits a noncitizen from voting in an election where there is a federal candidate on the ballot; and 18 U.S.C. § 911 makes false claims of citizenship in general a felony. Instead of prosecution, the Obama administration sent the immigrant a letter asking him when he "discovered" that he was "not a United States Citizen." Protecting the ballot box was not their priority (you can read more about The Threat of Non-Citizen Voting, here).
And the Tennessee case was not an isolated incident. Thanks to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, we now know that not protecting the ballot box from voter fraud is the official policy of the Obama Justice Department. Former American Civil Liberties Union attorney and current Justice Department employee Christopher Coates testified before the committee that: 1) Deputy Assistant Attorney General Julie Fernandes ordered DOJ attorneys only to enforce "traditional types of [voter intimidation] cases that would provide political equality for racial and minority language voters;" and 2) Fernandes informed DOJ attorneys that it was the policy of the Obama administration not to enforce anti-voter fraud laws since Obama "was not interested in that type of issue, but instead interested in issues that pertained to voter access." Fernandes has never responded to these allegations.
For most electoral races today, fraud will not be a factor. But there are some races where some will desperately cling to power in a close election. And that is where voting fraud is most likely to happen. The Heritage Foundation's voting law expert Hans von Spakovsky told Fox News:
Any place where we have very close elections, there's always going to be the potential there that voter fraud may make a difference, and that's where we are going to have to be really careful to be sure that doesn't happen.
In fact, voter fraud has already happened in this election. A Daytona Beach City Commissioner was arrested for absentee ballot fraud just last week. In Troy, N.Y., Democrats on the city council have been ordered to supply DNA to prosecutors to be tested against absentee ballots and absentee ballot applications that were allegedly forged. And in Bucks County, Pa., a Democratic program intimidated some voters into needlessly, and sometimes fraudulently, applying for absentee ballots.
Federal law does allow for poll workers to assist the disabled and those who can't read English. But, if you see or hear a poll worker attempt to give unsolicited instructions to any voter (other than technical instructions), that is not allowed. Neither is any electioneering in or near the polling place, and promises of payments for voting of any kind (whether it be cash or free food) are also illegal. If you witness any of these activities, notify both the chief election official in their particular county or city, as well as the media to make sure that officials do something about it.
The right to vote in a free and fair election is the most basic civil right, on which depends all of the other rights of the American people protected by the Bill of Rights. Unfortunately, as long as elections put people into positions where they can make decisions about how much the government will spend, who will receive the money, and how the government will exercise its power, elections will be important enough to tempt some individuals to steal them. As the Supreme Court recognized when it upheld the constitutionality of Indiana's voter identification law in 2008, flagrant examples of voter fraud "have been documented throughout this Nation's history by respected historians and journalists." Those examples "demonstrate that not only is the risk of voter fraud real but that it could affect the outcome of a close election." Be on the look out to protect your most basic civil right today.
