Ann Coulter: Obama will win if Chris Christie doesn’t run for president

President Obama will be re-elected in 2012 unless New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie runs for president, said conservative pundit Ann Coulter at the Conservative Political Action Conference Saturday.
“If we don’t run Chris Christie, Romney will be the nominee and we’ll lose,” Coulter said when asked about her predictions for the next presidential election.
Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney leads most polls among Republicans expected to seek the nomination, and he is widely expected to run. Christie, however, has fiercely denied that he has any intention of throwing his hat in the ring.
Coulter’s comments this year reveal a departure from the last election cycle, when she endorsed Romney in 2008, calling him “our strongest candidate.”
“The candidate Republicans should be clamoring for is the one liberals are feverishly denouncing. That is Mitt Romney by a landslide,” Coulter wrote three years ago.
Coulter told The Daily Caller she still would still support Romney if only left with the candidate choices from the last election cycle.
“The choices in Feb. 2008 were Romney, Huckabee or McCain. I would still support Romney over Huckabee or McCain,” she said.
The Republican nominees are expected to officially announce their decisions in the next few months.
