Robert "Fibbs" leading the Administrations Lies on Early AM TV

Here's Robert "Fibbs" Gibbs at it again....distorting the truth or basically lying to cover Obama's tracks....what a shame we cannot believe a word they say...and the American People know it! Obama has lost the respect the of the American People and thereby the ability to lead!

Obama will come out lying again tonight...compare what he says tonight with what he has said in the past!

It will be interesting to see how Obama distorts his and his democrat buddies statements about Iraq tonight when he makes his speech...You now it will all about him and there will be a lot of "I's" in the speech....For a guy that's doing such a bad job he will no doubt sound like he saved us when in fact he's just putting us in greater peril.

Flashback: Obama and Democratic Officials on the Iraq War, In Their Own Words

Published August 31, 2010 | FoxNews.com

President Obama will address the nation live from the Oval Office Tuesday night to mark the shift of American troops in Iraq from a combat role to an advisory role -- but he will have to tread carefully, since he was an early and vocal opponent of the war.

As early as October 2002, half a year before the fighting started, Obama declared Iraq a "dumb war."

The president's chief advisers on Iraq policy, including Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, are also former critics of the war and the surge that was credited with getting Iraq to the secure place it is today.

But the president's old comments about the war will not be what he focuses on Tuesday night.

"Whether you agreed with that decision to go (to Iraq) or not," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Monday, "the president always believed that his mission was finishing what we had to do to get our men and women out of Iraq, not to re-litigate what happened in 2002 or 2003, but to focus on, first, 2009, and ultimately now, in changing the direction of our mission."

Gibbs told Fox News that while Obama opposed the surge in 2007, he did not doubt that adding 20,000 men and women would improve the security situation.

"But as we know, our efforts in Iraq weren't going to be done simply militarily," Gibbs said. "There had to be a political accommodation. We had sectarian violence between Sunni, Shiite and the Kurd. And quite frankly the Sunni, Shiite, and Kurd had to decide they were going to live and work together for an Iraq that met their future needs and not fight each other. I think that's why we're at this moment, and that's what the president is going to mark tonight."

During his weekly radio address on Saturday, the president said he was fulfilling his campaign pledge to end the war in Iraq. But as Obama now walks the fine line of asking the public for patience on Afghanistan, the following are some of the statements he and top Democrats offered about the Iraq war in the six years before his administration came to office in January 2009.

Obama, Oct. 2, 2002:

"What I am opposed to is a dumb war. What I am opposed to is a rash war. What I am opposed to is the cynical attempt by Richard Perle and Paul Wolfowitz and other armchair, weekend warriors in this administration to shove their own ideological agendas down our throats, irrespective of the costs in lives lost and in hardships borne.

"What I am opposed to is the attempt by potential hacks like Karl Rove to distract us from a rise in the uninsured, a rise in the poverty rate, a drop in the median income -- to distract us from corporate scandals and a stock market that has just gone through the worst month since the Great Depression. That's what I'm opposed to. A dumb war. A rash war. A war based not on reason but on passion, not on principle but on politics. ...

"I also know that Saddam possesses no imminent and direct threat to the United States, or to his neighbors, that the Iraqi economy is in shambles, that the Iraqi military a fraction of its former strength, and that in concert with the international community he can be contained until, in the way of all petty dictators, he falls away into the dustbin of history."

July 25, 2004

"This is the first war I think since the Vietnam War where every community, particularly in rural areas and in downstate Illinois, are directly affected. They've got reservists, National Guardsmen, the sons, daughters, uncles, aunts of people who are over there for 18 months. They don't see an exit strategy. I think they're deeply troubled in retrospect about how we got into the war, and I think that one of the most important things that John Kerry is going to have to offer is the ability for his administration to be able to set a new tone, reestablish the kinds of relationships with our allies that allow us to internationalize the reconstruction process, make sure that Iraq succeeds and allow our troops eventually to get out."

Nov. 7, 2004

"We want to see Iraq successful and our troops protected. I do think that presenting a clear, detailed plan that includes an exit strategy and includes how the money is going to be spent would serve the president well."

Oct. 30, 2005:

"We should start phasing out our military presence in Iraq. We have to have a very credible, specific plan to stabilize the country as soon as we can and get out as soon as we can."

Nov. 22, 2005

"We don't necessarily need a timetable, in the sense of a precise date for U.S. troop pullouts, but a time frame for such a phased withdrawal. ... We need to say that there will be no bases in Iraq a decade from now and the United States armed forces cannot stand up and support an Iraqi government in perpetuity."

Dec 8, 2005

"Having gone in, how do we step back but ensure that theres not such a vacuum that either chaos occurs or jihadists take over critical areas that can make huge problems elsewhere? The irony, of course, is that there really wasn't a terrorist problem before we went in. There is now."

June 21, 2006

"What is needed is a blueprint for an expeditious yet responsible exit from Iraq. A hard and fast, arbitrary deadline for withdrawal offers our commanders in the field, and our diplomats in the region, insufficient flexibility to implement that strategy."

January 14, 2007

"We cannot impose a military solution on what has effectively become a civil war. And until we acknowledge that reality, we can send 15,000 more troops, 20,000 more troops, 30,000 more troops. I don't know any expert on the region or any military officer that I've spoken to privately that believes that that is going to make a substantial difference on the situation on the ground."

Jan. 28, 2008

"I think that the surge has reduced our violence in Iraq. And there's no doubt that that's as a consequence of the bravery and heroism of our soldiers. What we have not seen is the successful renegotiation between the Sunni, the Shia and the Kurd that will stabilize the country over the long term. I don't think that's going to happen so long as we have an occupation there."

January 31, 2008

"The Iraq war has undermined our security. We have spent billions of dollars, lost thousands of lives. Thousands more have been maimed and injured as a consequence and are going to have difficulty putting their lives back together again. This has undermined our security. ...

"The one important thing is that we not get mission creep, and we not start suggesting that we should have troops in Iraq to blunt Iranian influence. If we were concerned about Iranian influence, we should not have had this government installed in the first place. We shouldn't have invaded in the first place. It was part of the reason that it was such a profound strategic error for us to go into this war. ...

"The notion that somehow we have succeeded as a consequence of the recent reductions in violence means that we have set the bar so low it's buried in the sand at this point. We went from intolerable levels of violence and a dysfunctional government to spikes and horrific levels of violence and a dysfunctional government. Now, two years later, we're back to intolerable levels of violence and a dysfunctional government."

-- Joe Biden, May 1, 2006

"The idea, as in Bosnia, is to maintain a united Iraq by decentralizing it, giving each ethno-religious group -- Kurd, Sunni Arab and Shiite Arab -- room to run its own affairs, while leaving the central government in charge of common interests. We could drive this in place with irresistible sweeteners for the Sunnis to join in, a plan designed by the military for withdrawing and redeploying American forces, and a regional nonaggression pact.

"It is increasingly clear that President Bush does not have a strategy for victory in Iraq. Rather, he hopes to prevent defeat and pass the problem along to his successor."

June 3, 2007

"Start to draw down troops immediately and all out by '08. No one has fought harder to change Bush's policy (than I have). Matter of fact, the very language that was vetoed in the bill was language that I and, along with Senator (Carl) Levin, put in, and I suggested over a year ago in a proposal I laid forward, that is, start to draw down troops immediately, have them all out by '08."

Sept. 13, 2007

"I think it's the wrong strategy. We should be drawing down troops now. We should be in the middle of the 2008, down to 30,000 to 40,000 troops with an end date of getting out of there based upon a political settlement where you set up a federal system there."

Sept. 26, 2007

"Everyone says there's no military solution, only a political solution. We offered a political solution today, the Biden plan, and it got 75 votes. It rejected fundamentally the president's position that there's a possibility of establishing a strong central government in Iraq and said we're going to have a federal system. That is the thing that will allow us to come home without leaving chaos behind."

Oct, 8, 2008

"Barack Obama and I agree fully and completely on one thing: You've got to have a timeline to draw down the troops and shift responsibility to the Iraqis. We're spending $10 billion a month while Iraqis have an $80 billion surplus. Barack says it's time for them to spend their own money and have the 400,000 military we trained for them begin to take their own responsibility and gradually over six months -- 16 months, withdrawal."

-- Hillary Clinton, Sept. 11, 2007

"You have been made the de facto spokesmen for what many of us believe to be a failed policy: Despite what I view as your rather extraordinary efforts in your testimony both yesterday and today, I think that the reports that you provide to us really require the willing suspension of disbelief."

Jan. 31, 2008

"We have to send several messages at once. We are withdrawing, and I believe that is the best message to send to the Iraqis. That they need to know that they have to get serious, because so far they have been under the illusion that the Bush administration and the Republicans who have more of the same will be there indefinitely."

The Nation is turning Against the Democrats and Obama

More people than ever are now involved in what's going in the this nation, including myself, and that will not fare well for the Democrats....Many feel that Obama should be Impreached for simple incompetance....

Poll: Strongest Opinions About U.S. Policies, Most Unhappy With Obama

Published August 31, 2010 | FoxNews.com

Americans with the strongest opinions about the country's most divisive issues are largely unhappy with how President Barack Obama is handling them, an ominous sign for Democrats hoping to retain control of Congress in the November congressional elections.

In nine of 15 issues examined in an Associated Press-GfK Poll this month, more Americans who expressed intense interest in a problem voiced strong opposition to Obama's work on it, including the down economy, unemployment, federal deficits and terrorism. They were about evenly split over the president's efforts on five issues and strongly approved of his direction on just one: U.S. relationships with other countries.

The findings are troubling for Democrats struggling to protect their House of Representatives and Senate majorities on Election Day. They suggest that many of the most involved voters -- those with the deepest feelings about issues high on the nation's agenda -- are furious with the party in power and will take out their wrath at the polls.

Congressional races often turn on local concerns and the candidates' character, factors that may yet sway many races this year. But many analysts think the public's widely sour mood -- just 35 percent in the AP-GfK poll said the country is headed in the right direction -- means this year's campaigns could be widely influenced by national issues, especially the economy.

"The economy is poor, we're muddling through in Afghanistan, we're not making much progress in the war on terror," said Paul Goren, a University of Minnesota political scientist who studies voting behavior. "Every once in a while national issues can intrude. It looks like there's a good chance this will be one of those elections."

To find people with the most intense views, the AP examined poll respondents who called an issue extremely important and compared those who strongly approved of Obama's handling of that matter to those who strongly disapproved.

By a 3-to-1 margin, more of these highly opinionated people strongly disapproved of the president's effort on the economy than strongly approved. More strongly disapproved of Obama's actions by a 2-to-1 ratio on unemployment, 2-1 on health care, 6-1 on the deficit and 2-1 on terrorism, as well as on Afghanistan, taxes, immigration and gas prices.

Of the most frequently mentioned issues, the only one where most did not strongly disapprove of Obama's work was education, on which they were closely divided. They were also split over his handling of energy, Iraq, the environment and the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.

Those with the strongest views represent a minority of the population, ranging from one in nine people to one in three people, depending on the specific issue. Even so, they could be disproportionately crucial because turnout in election years without a presidential race is usually light.

Predictably, Republicans with the strongest opinions were overwhelmingly critical of Obama on most issues, while the fiercest Democrats were usually solidly supportive.

Looking at independents who considered an issue extremely or very important, more of them strongly disapproved than strongly approved of Obama's handling of 12 of the 15 issues. This included mostly negative views of Obama from independents on 10 of the 11 issues most frequently cited by people as important, including the economy, unemployment and health care.

The poll was conducted by GfK Roper Public Affairs & Corporate Communications from Aug. 11-16, using landline and cell phone interviews with 1,007 randomly chosen adults. The margin of sampling error is plus or minus 4.5 percentage points.

Obama...An Egotisitcal, Lying Idiot

This egotisical, lying President Obama can't even make time for the Governor of one of the largest states in the union to discuss a matter of American Security. Obama is just a blow hard that wants to get a photo opportunity with the troops (who I am not sure he really even cares about)....today is all about a big show that ends tonight with his big speech...he's more focused on his image than getting anything accomplished....I would bet if Perry were a Democrat he would make time...This is just SOOOOOOO disgusting!.....

Perry Offered Consolation Meeting After Request for Obama Face Time Denied

The White House apparently offered a consolation meeting to Texas Gov. Rick Perry after he was denied face time with President Obama on his trip to Fort Bliss Tuesday.

A governor's spokesman said Perry's request for a presidential meeting was rebuffed. Perry spokeswoman Katherine Cesinger said the Republican governor had asked to meet with the president on Tuesday to discuss border security. Cesinger said Monday that White House aides said the president would not be available for such a meeting.

But White House spokesman Luis Miranda said Perry "was offered but declined" a meeting on border security with Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and counterterrorism adviser John Brennan.

"Today, the president is at Fort Bliss to honor the troops who so bravely serve our country, but if the governor wants to have a meeting about the border, the White House has made that possible," Miranda said in a written statement.

Perry was one of the first people the president saw when he stepped from Air Force One during an Austin visit on Aug. 9. On that occasion, Perry hand-delivered a letter to Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett, warning about the "dire threat" from drug violence along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Obama will further divide America with his comments tonight!...An egomaniac hs is!

Once again on the point comments from the Heritage Foundation....they just highlight what a huge ego Obama has and that his intent is NOT to unite this country and certainly not to first and foremost keep Americans Safe. Tonight's speech will be but another Obama blunder that will make his and his party less credible among Americans. What a shame that we have a egomaniac in the White House...and one that's really not very bright either....

It's Time for Reality, Not Deadlines, in Iraq and Afghanistan

Tonight President Barack Obama will deliver a prime-time Oval Office address on Iraq. Acting as President of the United States, the leader of a country, not a movement, tonight would be a perfect time for Obama to give due credit to those commanders who made the current progress in Iraq possible. He should thank General Ray Odierno, who implemented the counterinsurgency strategy that led to the dramatic decrease in violence in Iraq, General David Petraeus, who oversaw all coalition forces in Iraq during the surge, and President George W. Bush, who had the courage to explain the new strategy to the American people at a time when it was extremely unpopular to do so.

Unfortunately, if the Weekly Address President Obama delivered from his rented vacation home on Martha's Vineyard is any indication, none of that will happen. Instead of uniting the country behind our effort in Iraq, this is how President Obama chose to open his remarks: "As a candidate for this office, I pledged I would end this war. As President, that is what I am doing. We have brought home more than 90,000 troops since I took office." The President's love affair with first person singular pronouns aside, this is just plain false. Throughout the campaign, candidate Obama promised the progressive movement that he would "immediately begin to remove our troops from Iraq," specifically calling for the removal of "one to two combat brigades each month."

Fortunately, when Obama finally took the oath of office, he did not "rely on some plan that he’s crafted as a presidential candidate or a U.S. Senator," as his former adviser Samantha Power predicted. Instead, he adopted a less ambitious 19-month drawdown that promised combat would "end" by August 2010. In truth, the Administration's self-imposed "end of combat" is a semantic distinction that does not adequately reflect the situation on the ground. Hostile Iraqi and foreign forces in Iraq have not ended their attacks on allied forces.

On August 12, Iraq’s top military leader, General Babaker Zebari, warned that Iraqi security forces will not be able to fully secure their own country until 2020. "If I were asked about the withdrawal," he said, "I would say to politicians: The U.S. Army must stay until the Iraq Army is fully ready in 2020." The President should acknowledge this need for continued military assistance, signal that the U.S. remains firmly engaged as a dependable ally, and dispel the growing perception that Washington is intent on a quick exit regardless of the dangerous consequences of such a gamble.

Instead of sending these calming signals, President Obama seems intent on giving sustenance to our enemies by sticking to arbitrary and unrealistic political deadlines. For Iraq, Obama again made clear on Saturday that he plans to remove all troops by the end of 2011. And in Afghanistan, President Obama still maintains that he will begin drawing down forces by July 2011. One would hope that the Obama administration would have learned from its abject failure to close Guantanamo Bay that arbitrary political deadlines are a fool's errand.

As a candidate, Barack Obama could afford to indulge in irresponsible rhetoric about "ending" the war in Iraq without regard for the disastrous consequences of losing that war. But as President, Obama should act decisively as the nation’s commander-in-chief and protect vital American interests by successfully finishing the jobs in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Louisiana...NOT a friend of Barack Obama

Good perspective from the Heritage Foundation on Obama's visit to New Orleans.....his interview with Brian Williams of NBC news couldn't have been more softball....he didn't ask any tough, challenging questions....but again NBC is State-Run Media so what would you expect?.....I guess we just have to feel good that Obama ended his vacation to make the speech...he's probably in the middle of golf withdrawl.....He's such a joke!

Why Does Louisiana Think This is Obama's Katrina?

President Barack Obama finished-up his 10-day vacation on Martha's Vineyard yesterday by flying down to New Orleans where he gave a speech at Xavier University marking the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. The President specifically linked the 2005 disaster with the region's most recent troubles telling the audience: "Even as you’ve been buffeted by Katrina and Rita, even as you’ve been impacted by the broader recession that has devastated communities across the country, in recent months the Gulf Coast has seen new hardship as a result of the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill." Obama then rattled through all that has administration has done for the Gulf since the oil spill before concluding that the legacy of Katrina must be "not one of neglect, but of action; not one of indifference, but of empathy."

But if the Obama administration has treated New Orleans with action and not neglect, with empathy and not indifference, then why does the latest survey from Public Policy Polling, a liberal polling firm, show that not only do Louisianans disapprove of Obama's actions in the aftermath of the spill by a 61%-32% margin, but a majority, 54%, believe that President George W. Bush did the better job of helping Louisiana through Katrina? The answer was given by Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) shortly after the President's Xavier speech when Jindal told reporters: "The experts all agree, we can end this moratorium before six months. Let’s put our people back to work."

The moratorium Gov. Jindal was referring to was President Obama's job-killing oil drilling moratorium which was put in place a full month and a half after the Deepwater Horizon rig exploded on April 20. The experts Gov. Jindal were referring to was the Bipartisan Policy Center which issued a report to the President's national oil spill commission last Thursday recommending that the ban be lifted. Jindal continued:

I don’t think they understood how the energy industry worked – I think they really thought that the rigs could simply flip a switch. I hope [they] now have a better understanding of what’s at stake, the jobs that are at stake. Until they came down here, they didn’t understand the human impact in terms of the small businesses and jobs.

President Obama's oil drilling ban is set to end on November 30, but hopefully the White House will begin to show some understanding of how the Gulf economy works by ending the ban before that. But don't hold your breath. President Obama made no mention of his oil drilling ban in his Xavier speech. And the mainstream media is intent on letting him get away with it. Brian Williams interviewed President Obama for NBC News last night and asked only two questions about the oil spill and another about the economy, but made no mention of the oil ban.

The President's oil drilling moratorium aside, there's another larger lesson from both Katrina and the Deepwater spill: the federal government can better defend the homeland domestically by returning power to states and localities. For far too long states have grown dependent on FEMA for their disaster response capabilities. As we wrote in April:

In the short span of 16 years, the yearly average of FEMA declarations has tripled from 43 under President George H. W. Bush to 89 under President Clinton to 130 under President George W. Bush. In his first year, President Barack Obama issued 108 declarations—the 12th highest in FEMA history—without the occurrence of one hurricane or other major disaster. In the first three months of 2010, President Obama has issued 32 declarations, which puts him on pace for 128 declarations for the year—the sixth most in FEMA history.

There are two pernicious effects from this dependency: 1) states and localities lose their disaster response capabilities since they believe the federal government will bail them out: 2) FEMA becomes distracted by routine disasters instead of focusing their resources on truly national threats. Let’s save FEMA and its resources for the Hurricane Katrinas and place the burden of responding to routine natural disasters back in the hands of states and localities.

The Obama administration's approach to the fallout from its oil drilling ban illustrates why that local approach is a better one. Gov. Jindal explained: "In the beginning, the administration suggested people file BP claims with unemployment claims. We made it clear that people want to go back to work." Less dependency. More work. The Obama administration must end the oil ban and let Louisiana heal.

Record number in government anti-poverty programs

By Richard Wolf, USA TODAY

WASHINGTON — Government anti-poverty programs that have grown to meet the needs of recession victims now serve a record one in six Americans and are continuing to expand.

More than 50 million Americans are on Medicaid, the federal-state program aimed principally at the poor, a survey of state data by USA TODAY shows. That's up at least 17% since the recession began in December 2007.

"Virtually every Medicaid director in the country would say that their current enrollment is the highest on record," says Vernon Smith of Health Management Associates, which surveys states for Kaiser Family Foundation.

The program has grown even before the new health care law adds about 16 million people, beginning in 2014. That has strained doctors. "Private physicians are already indicating that they're at their limit," says Dan Hawkins of the National Association of Community Health Centers.

More than 40 million people get food stamps, an increase of nearly 50% during the economic downturn, according to government data through May. The program has grown steadily for three years.

Caseloads have risen as more people become eligible. The economic stimulus law signed by President Obama last year also boosted benefits.

"This program has proven to be incredibly responsive and effective," says Ellin Vollinger of the Food Research and Action Center.

Close to 10 million receive unemployment insurance, nearly four times the number from 2007. Benefits have been extended by Congress eight times beyond the basic 26-week program, enabling the long-term unemployed to get up to 99 weeks of benefits. Caseloads peaked at nearly 12 million in January — "the highest numbers on record," says Christine Riordan of the National Employment Law Project, which advocates for low-wage workers.

More than 4.4 million people are on welfare, an 18% increase during the recession. The program has grown slower than others, causing Brookings Institution expert Ron Haskins to question its effectiveness in the recession.

As caseloads for all the programs have soared, so have costs. The federal price tag for Medicaid has jumped 36% in two years, to $273 billion. Jobless benefits have soared from $43 billion to $160 billion. The food stamps program has risen 80%, to $70 billion. Welfare is up 24%, to $22 billion. Taken together, they cost more than Medicare.

The steady climb in safety-net program caseloads and costs has come as a result of two factors: The recession has boosted the number who qualify under existing rules. And the White House, Congress and states have expanded eligibility and benefits.

Conservatives fear expanded safety-net programs won't contract after the economy recovers. "They're much harder to unwind in the long term," says Michael Tanner of the Cato Institute, a libertarian think tank.

Other anti-poverty experts say the record caseloads are a necessary response to economic hardship. "We should be there to support people when the economy can't," says LaDonna Pavetti of the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, a liberal-leaning think tank.

Obama doesn't care about being seen as a Muslim...doesn't care that he can't prove he was born in America

"I'm not gonna be worrying too much about whatever rumors are floating on out there," Obama said Sunday. "If I spend all my time chasing after that, then I wouldn't get much done."...Obama doesn't get much done...between playing golf and being on vacation he doesn't get much done...He certainly doesn't listen to the will of the American People....AND he should be concerned about the American Public thinking he is Muslim because the next time they survey that the numbers will be higher....When you act like a muslim the American Public will think you are a muslim.......and Mr Barack Obama you act like a muslim!!!!

President Says He's Not Worried About Muslim RumorsPublished August 29, 2010| Associated Press

NEW ORLEANS -- President Barack Obama said Sunday he isn't worried about a recent poll showing that nearly one-fifth of Americans believe he is a Muslim.

"The facts are the facts," said Obama, who is a Christian. In an interview broadcast on "NBC Nightly News," the president blamed the confusion over his religious beliefs on "a network of misinformation that in a new media era can get churned out there constantly."

A poll released earlier this month by the nonpartisan Pew Research Center showed that 18 percent of people believe Obama is Muslim. That was up from 11 percent who said so in March 2009. Just 34 percent said Obama is Christian, down from 48 percent who said so last year.

"I'm not gonna be worrying too much about whatever rumors are floating on out there," Obama said Sunday. "If I spend all my time chasing after that, then I wouldn't get much done."

Asked about persistent accusations that he wasn't born in the United States, the president responded, "I can't spend all my time with my birth certificate plastered on my forehead."

NBC anchorman Brian Williams also asked Obama about conservative commentator Glenn Beck's rally on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial on Saturday. While he didn't watch the event, Obama said, "I think that Mr. Beck and the rest of those folks were exercising their rights under our Constitution exactly as they should."

The president acknowledged the ralliers' concerns about the economy and terrorism and observed, "Given the fact that, you know, in none of these situations are you gonna fix things overnight, it's not surprising that somebody like a Mr. Beck is able to stir up a certain portion of the country."

Obama added: "I have no doubt that we are gonna rebound and rebound strong. But when you're in the middle of it, and if you don't have a job right now, it's a tough, tough situation

Obama Ignored Beck Rally....He really doesn't care about what real Americans think!

Obama says he ignored Beck rally

Obama briefly touched on several issues in a wide-ranging 20-minute interview, which took place under umbrellas in the New Orleans rain. He said he remained confident in his administration’s policies in Iraq and Afghanistan — the topic of his scheduled nationally televised address Tuesday night — and he urged Americans to have patience with the economic recovery.

Obama acknowledged that many Americans remained out of work while others were being badly pinched. But he said the recovery was a long-term effort that would pay dividends even if it was painful now.

“What we know is that we are going to have to slowly, steadily build confidence — push more investment out there, target areas like clean energy that we know are going to be growth areas in the future,” he said.

The president also chuckled when he was asked about polls that show many Americans still believe he was born outside the United States or was a Muslim. He said he didn’t pay much attention to such perceptions, which he blamed on “a network of misinformation that in a new media era can get churned out there constantly.”

I can't spend all my time with my birth certificate plastered on my forehead,” he added. “The facts are the facts.”

He seemed intent on casting himself as above the political fray, saying he had more important work to do than to engage in the back and forth of the political “silly season.”

For example, Obama said he did not watch any of Fox News Channel host Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Honor” rally Saturday on the National Mall.

"It’s not surprising that somebody like a Mr. Beck is able to stir up a certain portion of the country. That's been true throughout our history,” he said. But “what I’m focused on is making sure that the decisions we’re making now are going to be be not good for the nightly news, not good even necessarily for the next election, but are good for the next generation.”

The Fight for "Right"

Posted by Dave Poff Sunday, August 29th at 11:05AM EDT

It should be lost on NO one how incredibly diverse and divisive the news coverage of events in DC on 8/28 has been; the white guys are talking about God and Country while the black guys are threatening to beat them up over it as they express their intolerance for insufficient levels of freebies and shout out their demands for even more nannyism from the State. And, of course, those who dare disagree with them are racists and bigots. [Full disclosure-I'm a white guy AND a Christian which, I guess, makes me a racist and a bigot.]

It’s sad, really, and especially ironic that we find ourselves engaging in a national debate over Dr. King’s speech where a few thousand African Americans used their podium to rail against how far they still have to go to achieve King’s dream while a hundred times that many Americans cried out for going back to that place from whence King came as he pursued his dream; God.

The fact that Sharpton, like King, is a Reverand would lead most of us to expect invocations of God and our greater purpose in pursuing Him in our daily lives and our struggle for equality. King mentioned God four times in his I have a Dream speech, and Beck mentioned God twice in the first 5 minutes of his own “Restoring Honor” speech at the Lincoln Memorial…a few steps and 47 years away. Sharpton mentioned God not once in his own speech, choosing instead to refer to “us” and “them” and “we” and “they” on multiple occasions while simultaneously calling for unity:

Whichever of these two approaches one chooses to adopt, “Restoring Honor” or deepening the American divide because “the Dream has not been achieved” depends on one’s point of view. Move forward, inspired by hope that is derived from what has already been accomplished, or stand still…fists clenched…trapped by what hasn’t.

Glenn Beck Restoring Honor Rally....a Good Thing!

What's not being said during all this fuss is that Martin Luther King's niece is speaking at the Glenn Beck rally and she believes that her uncle would have liked and agreed with Glenn Beck.....Sharpton is just pissed because #1 he didn't think about doing something like this and #2 if he had he couldn't have drawn a fraction of the folks that Beck will draw....and if you talk about anger then I would say an Al Sharpton event would show more anger than a Glenn Beck event!....This is America....and we have freedom of speech here....at least we did before Obama became President!

This just add salt to the wound....Why should this project get public financing?????

We as Americans are NUTS.....this just adds salt to the wound....Bloomberg and Obama need to be castrated for letting this happen!

Ground Zero Muslim center may get public financing

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Muslim center planned near the site of the World Trade Center attack could qualify for tax-free financing, a spokesman for City Comptroller John Liu said on Friday, and Liu is willing to consider approving the public subsidy.

The Democratic comptroller's spokesman, Scott Sieber, said Liu supported the project. The center has sparked an intense debate over U.S. religious freedoms and the sanctity of the Trade Center site, where nearly 3,000 perished in the September 11, 2001 attack.

"If it turns out to be financially feasible and if they can demonstrate an ability to pay off the bonds and comply with the laws concerning tax-exempt financing, we'd certainly consider it," Sieber told Reuters.

Spokesmen for Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Governor David Paterson and the Islamic center and were not immediately available.

The proposed center, two blocks from the Trade Center site in lower Manhattan, has caused a split between people who lost relatives and friends in the attack, as well as conservative politicians, and those who support the project. Among those who support it are the mayor, civic and religious groups, and some families of victims.

The mosque's backers hope to raise a total of $70 million in tax-exempt debt to build the center, according to the New York Times. Tax laws allow such funding for religiously affiliated non-profits if they can prove the facility will benefit the general public and their religious activities are funded separately.

The bonds could be issued through a local development corporation created for this purpose, experts said.

The Islamic center would have to repay the bonds, which likely would be less expensive than taxable debt.

New York City's Industrial Development Authority could not issue debt for the center because the state civic facilities law, which governed this type of financing for non-profits, was allowed to expire about two years ago.

What does Obama not understand about the word "ILLEGAL"?

What does this President and his Administration not understand about the word "illegal"????? Why would we allow illegals to stay in the United States if they came here ILLEGALLY? Would we let a bank robber keep the money he stole from a bank because he initially got away with the crime?...NO!...It's time to get tough with illegals if we ever want to get this problem under control....if we ever want to reduce federal spending....illegals are costing us a fortune! New Immigration Policy to Halt Some Illegal Immigrant Deportations

Published August 27, 2010 | FoxNews.com

Federal authorities have issued a new policy aimed at stopping deportation proceedings for some illegal immigrants, according to a memo issued by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The memo, which ICE released on Aug. 20, could affect up to tens of thousands of illegal immigrants who are married or related to a U.S. citizen or a legal resident who has filed a petition on their behalf. Illegal immigrants with criminal convictions will not qualify under the plan. ICE Assistant Secretary John Morton wrote the memo to Peter Vincent, principal legal adviser and head of the agency's removal operations.

The memo directs ICE attorneys to check cases of detained illegal immigrants for any "serious" or "adverse" factors weighing against dismissal, including criminal convictions, fraud, national security and public safety considerations.

"If no investigations … or serious adverse factors exist, the offices of chief counsel should promptly move to dismiss proceedings," the memo reads. "Once the Field Office Director is notified, the FOD must release the alien."

The change in policy could affect thousands of the estimated 17,000 pending removal cases. According to ICE data, nearly 40,000 immigrants obtained U.S residency status due to sponsorship of relatives who were legal residents in fiscal year 2009. By comparison, more than 393,000 illegal immigrants were deported during that same span.

Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, likened the change to a "free pass" for illegal immigrants, a characterization federal authorities denied.

“Actions like this demoralize ICE agents who are trying to do their job and enforce the law,” Grassley told The New York Times. “Unfortunately, it appears this is more evidence that the Obama administration would rather circumvent Congress and give a free pass to illegal immigrants who have already broken our law.”

A Department of Homeland Security official told Fox News that the new policy was designed in July 2009 to improve docket efficiency.

Richard Rocha, ICE's deputy press secretary, said the agency remains focused on removing foreign nationals who have criminal convictions.

"This administration is committed to smart, effective immigration reform, prioritizing the arrest and removal of criminal aliens and those who pose a danger to national security,'' Rocha said in a statement. "In 2010 to date, ICE has removed more than 150,000 convicted criminals -- a record number.

"ICE is not engaged in a 'backdoor' amnesty and has placed more people in immigration proceedings this year than ever before. ICE has implemented a new policy to expedite the removal of criminal aliens and those who pose a danger to national security by ensuring these cases are heard."

Christie Fires Education Chief Over Race to the Top Grant Loss

Published August 27, 2010| Associated Press

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie announced he was firing his education commissioner Friday, days after it was revealed that a simple mistake on an application form might have cost the state a $400 million education grant.

The dismissal of Commissioner Bret Schundler comes after New Jersey became the top runner-up for the Race to the Top grants, missing out by only a few points. The Star-Ledger of Newark later reported that budget figures for the wrong years were supplied in one section of the application.

Christie had defended Schundler on Wednesday, saying he gave the federal government the missing information during a meeting in Washington this week. But a video released Thursday by the federal Education Department shows that wasn't the case.

"I was extremely disappointed to learn that the videotape of the Race to the Top presentation was not consistent with the information provided to me by the New Jersey Department of Education and which I then conveyed to the people of New Jersey," Christie said in a statement Friday. "As a result, I ordered an end to Bret Schundler's service as New Jersey's Education Commissioner and as a member of my administration."

Schundler, a former Jersey City mayor and gubernatorial candidate, is an outspoken proponent of educational reform and was an unconventional choice as a member of the governor's cabinet.

Liberalism is Failing!

From the Heritage Foundation....A good article that points out that all these government offers on clunkers, home purchase, etc only move purchases (at significant taxpayer expense) and do not add buyers to the market for the long haul....Plus these offers only make Americans more dependent on government and more of an entitlement society.....Liberalism IS Failing!

Liberalism is Failing

On Tuesday, the National Association of Realtors reported that July sales of existing homes fell by 27% from June of this year and by 25.5% compared to July 2009. This annual sales rate of 3.83 million homes was the lowest since NAR began keeping track of sales in 1999. Then yesterday, the Commerce Department reported that July sales of new homes fell 12.4% from June and by 32.4% compared to July 2009. This annual rate of 276,000 new units sold is the lowest since 1963, when government records were first kept. The source of the plunge is no secret: July's numbers reflect the first month when existing home sales received no boost from the home buyer tax credit.

Americans have seen this movie before. Last fall after the Obama administration's Cash for Clunkers program dried up, new automobile sales plummeted. General Motors' sales plunged 36 percent in September 2009 compared with August. Ford plummeted 37 percent. Chrysler dove 33 percent. And Americans are still feeling the hangover from the original car spending binge. Thanks to the destruction of traded-in cars mandated by President Obama, used car prices have soared this year. This means that the most cash-strapped Americans who are already dealing with 9.5% unemployment now are finding it harder to find an affordable car, all thanks to government intervention in the marketplace.

The problem with both of these liberal programs is the same: there is no such thing as a free lunch. In both cases the additional government spending did not create any new demand; it only shifted the time at which American consumers were going to make a purchase they had decided to make anyway. Instead of ensuring an environment where market participants could ascertain the true prices of the goods they want to purchase, these government interventions added uncertainty into the economy by making it harder for existing businesses and entrepreneurs to plan their next move. These government interventions, paid for with borrowed dollars, did not create new wealth. They just diverted capital and resources from the other places where markets would have invested it spontaneously absent government action.

This is the same problem with President Obama's failed stimulus. Government spending does not stimulate economic growth. All it does is move resources away from one sector of the economy to another. And government has a horrible track record at efficiently allocating resources. All that really happens is that, on net, jobs get destroyed in the transfer process. But the left refuses to recognize this reality.

In February 2009, at a House Democratic retreat in Williamsburg, Va., President Obama pressed for passage of his stimulus plan, reasoning: "This is not something that we're just doing to grow government. We're doing this because this is what the best minds tell us needs to be done." But what if the people who President Obama believes have "the best minds" are just wrong? Forty-five years earlier, then-Gov. Ronald Reagan told the American people: "Anytime you and I question the schemes of the do-gooders, we're denounced as being against their humanitarian goals. They say we're always "against" things—we're never "for" anything. Well, the trouble with our liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so."

Last week a group of economic bloggers met with some Treasury officials, including Secretary Timothy Geithner. When pressed on the failure of President Obama's Home Affordable Modification Program to help homeowners avoid foreclosure, the Obama officials explained that they judged "HAMP to be a qualified success because it helped banks muddle through what might have been a fatal shock." Shocked at the admission that HAMP was meant to bail out banks and not help owners, Media Matters fellow Duncan Black wrote: "When Liberalism Doesn't Work It Discredits Liberalism." Liberalism is not working. We'll find out in the coming months just how discredited it is in the eyes of the American people.

The Race to Waste Your Education Dollars....

Here's a quick $4.3 Billion that could have and should have been saved...it's wasted money taken from the taxpayers...and all it will end up doing is lining the pockets of the unions...

Secretary Duncan's Race to Waste Your Education Dollars

When Education Secretary Arne Duncan first unveiled his Race to the Top (RttT) program in July of last year, he admitted that "when I was superintendent of the Chicago Public Schools, I did not always welcome calls from the U.S. Department of Education. That's because the department, from its inception in 1980, has traditionally been a compliance-driven agency." But, he continued, that was all about to change because his RttT program, funded by $4.35 billion of economic stimulus cash, would be a "competition" that scrutinized "state applications for a coordinated and deep-seated commitment to reform." He later added: "As I have said many times before, this isn't just about the money -- this is about working together and putting the needs of children ahead of everyone else."

Fast forward to this past Tuesday when Secretary Duncan identified the ten recipients of second round RttT funding that did not include the state of New Jersey, which fell just three points shy of the winners circle. The Newark Star-Ledger then revealed that a clerical error cost the state 4.8 points (out of 500 possible) because New Jersey's application submitted data comparing the 2010 and 2011 state budgets, not the 2008 and 2009 data that the application required. Wednesday, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) accepted full responsibility for the error, but also used the incident to launch a trenchant critique of the entire program:

That's the stuff that drives people nuts about government and that's the stuff the Obama administration should answer for. Are you guys just down there checking boxes like mindless drones, or are you thinking? ... When the president comes back to New Jersey, he's going to have to explain to the people of the state of New Jersey why he's depriving them of $400 million that this application earned because one of his bureaucrats in Washington couldn't pick up the phone and ask a question, couldn't go on the Internet and find information.

Mindless box-checking is just the beginning of RttT's problems. When Tuesday's results were announced, the New Jersey Education Association, the state's largest teachers union, was quick to claim that it was Gov. Christie's failure to get "buy in" from unions on the application that ultimately cost the state millions in federal cash. Specifically, Gov. Christie's insistence on not caving-in to union demands that he weaken the state's teacher accountability standards lost him far more points than the clerical error did. And New Jersey was not the only state to lose out because of the Obama administration's slavish devotion to teacher union votes and cash. Proven education reform leaders like Louisiana and Colorado also lost points and finished out of the money because their state's chosen reforms threatened union priorities. Meanwhile Hawaii (which the Data Quality Campaign ranked 17th for education data systems, which the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools ranked 34th for the strength of their charter laws, and which got a D- from the National Council on Teacher Quality) finished third and will receive $75 million. Oh, but they had 100% "buy in" from the unions. So much for Secretary Duncan's claim that RttT was committed to "putting the needs of children ahead of everyone else."

As pernicious as teachers union influence has been on RttT, it is merely a symptom of the larger disease that is the top-down government bureaucracy approach to education. Secretary Duncan loves to talk about the "competition" that RttT has inspired among the states. But there is a fundamental difference between the competition for federal government funds and real market competition. When Apple competes for the mobile music industry, it does so by winning over consumers with a better product. When Amazon competes to become the leader in online retail, it does so by serving customers needs better. Not so with RttT.

As Gov. Christie points out, New Jersey's RttT application was over 1,000 pages long and took thousands of hours to complete. Instead of states spending their money and manpower to improve schools and educate children, the government asks them to put taxpayer dollars toward constructing massive grant applications. The incentives are all flowing in the wrong direction. Instead of focusing on making children and parents happy by devoting resources to make a better education product, states have been devoting resources to make Washington bureaucrats happy with a better grant application product. Filling out grant applications has never educated a single child anywhere ever. But grant applications are what RttT is all about, and they have made RttT the biggest waste of your education dollars ever.

Interesting article by Mort Zuckerman...see even Democrats are being critical of Obama and his policies....what Mort is missing is the need to have EVERYONE get skin in the game at a level they can afford....right now some 52% of Americans pay NO federal income tax...that has to change...all Americans need to contribute something...surely the rich should give more in percent and dollars, but everyone needs to contribute to know the cost of government....I agree that it cannot all be done through spending cuts, but with all the current waste in government (Pelosi's private government jet, etc, etc) we could get at a lot of spending reduction if we only had the guts to address it....just look at the benefits given to government workers and union workers versus the rest of Americans with the same types of jobs...these have to be addressed...these workers need to contribute to their benefit packages just like the rest of us...today there is NO FREE LUNCH.....entitlements need to be addressed starting with the last one passed that we cannot afford, Obamacare.....we cannot afford to give/subsidize medical care for 30,000,000 Americans....some of whom don't want healthcare because they could have afforded before Obamacare and didn't purchase it. It's time to get serious about getting the debt down...getting government spending and size under control and get EVERYONE'S skin in the game.

Karl Rove right on the Money!

Harry Reid is an Idiot....He deserves to lose big in his Nevada Senate Race...He certainly cannot be trusted....This is a great article by Karl Rove

Deconstructing Harry Reid by Karl Rove

The Senate majority leader's inexplicable desire to debate taxes in September.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid can say the darndest things. He certainly did last week when he proclaimed: "I don't know how anyone of Hispanic heritage could be a Republican." That must have thrilled his son, Rory, who's trailing a Hispanic Republican, Judge Brian Sandoval, in the Nevada governor's race by 16 points in the most recent Mason-Dixon poll.

Mr. Reid can also do inexplicable things, such as tentatively schedule a floor debate in September on extending the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts that expire on Jan. 1.

There are many ways this debate can hurt Democrats in November's election, such as deepening their image as tax-and-spend liberals. There are only a few ways it could help, such as if they agreed with Republicans to keep the Bush tax cuts in place. Rightly sensing trouble and trying to protect vulnerable House Democrats from yet another unpopular vote, Speaker Nancy Pelosi declared that her chamber would take up the issue only if the Senate passed a bill first.

That's unlikely. At least three Senate Democrats support renewing the Bush-era tax cuts: Sens. Evan Bayh, Kent Conrad and Ben Nelson. This puts Mr. Reid at least four votes short of gaining cloture on any tax increase he'd pursue.

By arguing that now is not the time to raise taxes, Messrs. Bayh, Conrad and Nelson may be out of step with their Democratic colleagues and the White House, but not with the American people. The Aug. 5-9 NBC/Wall Street Journal poll reported 71% of Americans favor extending the tax cuts for at least a year, while only 24% said permanently eliminating all the tax cuts was acceptable.

The Wall Street Journal's recent survey of 53 economists also found that only three supported allowing the Bush-era tax cuts to expire, while 32 favored keeping them. Eleven backed President Barack Obama's position of continuing them for individuals making less than $200,000 a year or families making less than $250,000.

Mr. Reid will not only face opposition inside the Democratic caucus from his right. Liberal senators might follow the lead of Iowa's Tom Harkin, who wants to preserve tax cuts only to those earning $150,000 or less.

Mr. Reid also has the problem that God so loves middle-class taxpayers that he created a lot of them. Individual filers who make $200,000 or less and families who earn $250,000 or less received the lion's share of the Bush-era tax cuts. The "cost" (to the government) of keeping tax cuts in place for them would be $1.29 trillion over the next 10 years.

Yet Mr. Reid, Mr. Obama and congressional Democrats have vowed to "pay" for any tax cuts with offsetting tax increases or spending cuts elsewhere—a policy called pay-go. Abandoning pay-go on some tax cuts now will make it hard for Democrats to resurrect it later. But raising taxes and cutting spending will gore a lot of oxen weeks before the midterms, driving everyone who faces a tax hike to vote Republican in order to keep House Democrats from passing any Senate bill.

The GOP will seize this opportunity to argue that the country should not absorb history's largest tax increase as the economy is struggling to get airspeed and altitude. In a June Rasmussen poll, Republicans already enjoyed a 52-to-36 lead on the question of which party can be trusted on taxes. A September tax debate will only strengthen the GOP's standing.

With tiresome predictability, Senate Democrats will attack GOP colleagues for protecting tax cuts for the rich. But Republicans have a very strong small business card to play. Raising the top income tax rates would increase taxes on small businesses that report profits as individuals. Higher income tax rates would raise taxes on 54% of Subchapter S small companies, 33% of sole proprietorships, and half of all small business income. Affected firms employ a quarter of all small business workers.

Small business owners are already jazzed about this year's elections. An assault on them in September will only increase their agitation, making it more likely they share their concerns with employees, suppliers and customers.

Democrats are in a terrible bind. Having pursued policies that have made our fiscal situation unsustainable, they are now reverting to old habits, trying to raise taxes to pay for their profligacy.

Mr. Reid is drawing attention to some of his party's very worst impressions. Already facing the prospect of huge election losses in November, many Democratic candidates may find themselves victims of their majority leader's extraordinarily bad judgment if he follows through on his decision to schedule a tax debate next month.

Even after a year and half there is too much about Obama that we do not know!

Obamacare Needs to Be Repealed!

Some Common Sense ideas from the Heritage Foundation on what needs to be done after Obamacare is Repealed....It makes sense to me!

The Left is in Full Retreat

Last Thursday, a who's who of the progressive movement met for a conference call organized by Families USA and hosted by the advocacy group for government-run health care, The Herndon Alliance. The Alliance's partners include AARP, AFL-CIO, SEIU, MoveOn and La Raza, among many others. Democratic pollsters John Anzalone, Celinda Lake and Stan Greenberg were the call's main event, and they were there to deliver some bad news. Politico reports: "Democrats are acknowledging the failure of their predictions that the health care legislation would grow more popular after its passage, as its benefits became clear and rhetoric cooled. ... The presentation also concedes that the fiscal and economic arguments that were the White House's first and most aggressive sales pitch have essentially failed."

Health care is not the only issue where the left is retreating in the face of strong disapproval from the American people. Versionista, a Portland, Oregon-based company that tracks changes to the White House website, reported last week that the Obama administration had made "whole-cloth" changes to its "Energy & Environment" issues page. Out are any references to a cap on carbon emissions and a campaign pledge to spend $150 billion on clean energy technologies. In its place the new White House site includes a three-minute Earth Day-themed video from President Barack Obama. And across the country, leftist Senate candidates in Missouri, Kentucky and Indiana have all come out against President Obama's impending trillion dollar tax hike, due in January.

As satisfying as it is to see Obamacare's supporters come to terms with the failure of their grand plan, it is not enough for conservatives to just say "no." Conservatives must have real plans for reform if the American people choose to empower them. The Heritage Foundation's Solutions for America chapter on Getting Health Care Reform Right recommends:

Repeal Obamacare: There is a precedent for repealing highly unpopular and misguided laws: the Medicare Catastrophic Coverage Act of 1988. Recently, over 70% of Missouri residents rejected a key provision of Obamacare—the requirement that individuals purchase a health insurance plan designed and approved by government bureaucrats. The House of Representatives even voted recently to repeal one provision of Obamacare that will impose draconian paperwork requirements on millions of small businesses. The easiest way to address all these grievances: repeal Obamacare.

Promote Personal Control Through Tax Equity: Today, workers who purchase coverage through their employer receive an unlimited tax break on the value of their health care benefits. However, those who purchase coverage on their own receive no comparable tax break. Ideally, the current tax exclusion should be replaced (or at the very least capped) with a system of universal tax credits for taxpayers. Medicaid and SCHIP spending should also be redirected to help low-income individuals and families purchase private health insurance

Fix Current Government Health Programs: Medicare should be reformed into a defined-contribution system in which the government provides a contribution for benefits and seniors are able to apply their contribution to the health plan that suits them best.

Promote Federal–State Partnerships: A one-size-fits-all federal solution cannot accommodate the unique and diverse health care challenges facing the states. The federal government should promote interstate commerce in health insurance, extend certain protections for those who maintain continuous coverage, and provide states with technical assistance and relief from federal rules that inhibit innovation.

Provide Portability: Individuals—not the government—should be able to choose the health coverage that best suits their needs. To accomplish this, private health insurance must be portable—that is, owned by Americans so they can take their package from job to job.

There is no better symbol for the overreach of the progressive movement into the daily lives of all Americans than Obamacare. Repealing this intolerable act and replacing it with the foundations for a truly market-based health care system is one of the best ways conservatives can capitalize on liberalism's retreat.

Obama: Here he goes again...Blaming Republicans and Congress for unemployment!

Obama just doesn't get it...Small business is NOT going feel good about investing/growing their businesses and hiring until and unless they know what the future holds...With Obama's Agenda they don't know what healthcare will cost them, whether energy costs will skyrocket in the future, what's going to happen with taxes after the debt reduction commission comes back and suggests tax increase.....Smart business people will NOT just plow ahead until they know the rules of the game and with Obama's Liberal, Progressive, Socialistic Agenda there are far too many unknowns about the immediate future....not to mention the fact that Obama is clearly anti-business himself! Obama just doesn't get it....

And he's blaming Republicans when Democrats control Congress....He must think we are stupid.

U.S. unemployment: the creeping cancer....What a GREAT JOB Obama is doing with the economy....NOT!

The link below contains a great short video that visually shows the spread of unemployment in America....As you will see it is getting much worse very fast and all this is despite all the Money (money we don't have)that Obama has thrown at it...his stimulus, etc, etc....He, his administration and the Democrat controlled Congress have by any account done a terrible job addressing the economy..their efforts have been focused on needless spending...creating bigger government...supporting Unions which make us more UNcompetitive....RATHER than supporting efforts to grow private industry and capitalism....AND now he's still saying he will let the Bush tax cuts expire on those that create jobs in America and we all know that he will be raising taxes on everyone soon....If he does, it will only get worse....Obama, his Administration and the Democrats in Congress need to GO...November 2nd is our first chance to make an impact.....Less than 75 days away!....If we can give control of the House and Senate back to Republicans you will be surprised the impact on the stock market and business in general!

Indiana Democrat Blasts Pelosi in New Campaign Ad

Published August 20, 2010

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Indiana Rep. Joe Donnelly is taking an unusual jab at his party's leadership in a campaign ad that refers to climate change legislation as "Nancy Pelosi's energy tax."

The two-term Democrat is pulling a page from Republican strategists in trying to distance himself from policies that have some voters wary.

In one ad, Donnelly says he voted against Pelosi's "energy tax on Hoosier families."

Another ad touts his votes to crack down on illegal immigration. Donnelly says he doesn't work for the "Washington crowd" as a photograph of President Barack Obama, Pelosi and House Minority Leader John Boehner flashes by.

Donnelly faces former state Rep. Jackie Walorski in November. Former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin endorsed Walorski this week.

Entitlements Need to be Addressed...and Obamacare Repealed....

Below is an article from the Heritage Foundation.....

The Age of Entitlements Must End

The latest Democracy Corps poll, performed by Democratic pollsters Stan Greenberg, James Carville and Bob Shrum, shows that by a 64% - 29% margin, the American people believe that things in this country "have gotten pretty seriously off on the wrong track." But nobody seems to have bothered to tell President Barack Obama who, on the second-to-last leg of a $4 million fundraising trip for Democrats, told a group of supporters in Columbus, Ohio: "Slowly but surely, we are moving in the right direction. We're on the right track." And that wasn't the most completely divorced-from-reality statement that the President made yesterday. Responding to a question about Social Security, the President insisted: "So here’s the thing. Social Security is not in crisis." Oh yes it is.

The debate about whether Social Security needs to be fixed is over. The 2010 Social Security Trustees Report, released on August 5, shows that the program will run cash-flow deficits in both 2010 and 2011 due to the effects of the recession. Then in 2015, Social Security will begin to inflict massive permanent annual deficits on American taxpayers. And Social Security is just one of the Big Three entitlements (Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid) that is set to bankrupt our country. Unless major reforms are made, spending on just these three programs alone will consume all federal government revenues by 2052. According to the International Monetary Fund, over the next 20 years the United States will experience the second highest projected increase of all the G20 countries in health care and pension spending as a share of GDP.

If we really want to get our nation back on track, one of our top priorities must be to end the age of entitlements. Under current law, Congress does not review and approve the level of funding for these programs annually or…ever. Rather, their expansion is on autopilot, fueled by demographic changes and rapidly rising health care costs. Unless major reforms are made, these entitlement programs will crowd out all of our other national priorities. The Heritage Foundation's Solutions for America chapter on The Entitlement Crisis recommends:

Put These Programs on a Budget: Congress should set firm and enforceable budget caps for Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. Put these programs on a firm, long-term budget—say 30 years—and require Congress to review these budgets regularly. Triggers or other mechanisms should be deployed to enforce budget limits if Congress fails to act.

Fix Medicare: Establish a new Medicare “defined contribution” system as we transition away from today’s costly and inefficient fee-for-service system. New retirees, just like federal workers, would receive a government contribution to purchase the health insurance that best meets their needs. The contribution, or “premium assistance,” would be capped but reviewed periodically. An individual’s contribution would be adjusted according to income and underlying medical condition.

Fix Medicaid: Healthier families should be allowed into private health insurance with their share of Medicaid money. We need patient-centered care to give the disabled, elderly, and their families a say in the care and services they receive. Medicaid’s long-term care benefit must be transformed from an open-ended entitlement to an insurance-based model of private coverage as part of a general strategy to boost long-term care insurance.

Fix Social Security: To boost savings, we need to include a system of voluntary personal accounts within Social Security. The system as a whole should be made solvent by transforming the remainder of Social Security to "real insurance," focusing benefits on those who really need them during retirement while strengthening the safety net for poorer retirees. Incentives such as removing payroll taxes for workers over the retirement age should accompany these changes.

Increase Retirement Savings: Automatic enrollment, whereby workers are automatically enrolled in employer-sponsored retirement savings but allowed to opt out, should be expanded, and automatic IRA, a simple payroll deduction system that small businesses would offer to employees, should be created.

President Obama told his supporters in Columbus yesterday that Social Security only needs "some modest adjustments in order to strengthen it." It is exactly this type of head-in-the-sand denialism that has caused the vast majority of Americans to believe that our nation is "pretty seriously off on the wrong track." Ending this country's entitlement mentality is not just an economic challenge, but a moral one. It is simply wrong to make unsustainable promises to today’s adults by shackling our children and grandchildren with crippling debt or heavy taxes.

Extreme....Watch this Video!

This is a great video that highlights that Obama has been acting in direct conflict with the will the American People....The November MidTerm elections can go a long way to stopping the Liberal, Progressive, Socialistic Agenda that Obama has been forcing down America's throats. The people have to show Obama and Democrats that we will not stand for it any longer!!!!

Obama ......Muslim or Christian?

What would you expect Americans to think based on the way he acts...he does NOT attend church on a regular basis so if he is Christian you can't tell that by his church attendance....and he continues to play up to the Muslim community when their extremist elements are in fact our enemy.....I am personally not sure that privately Obama does not consider himself Muslim first....

Nearly 1 in 5 Americans Thinks Obama Is Muslim, Survey Shows
By Lauren Green

Published August 19, 2010

A new survey reports a sharp increase in the number of Americans who, incorrectly, say President Obama is a Muslim. The increase has occurred over the last couple of years, and the poll was taken before the president stepped into the fray of the Ground Zero mosque controversy.

The findings are part of the "Religion, Politics and the President" poll conducted by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life early this month. It also explores Americans' attitudes toward religion's impact on society and voting preferences in the upcoming 2010 congressional races.

According to the survey, nearly one in five Americans (18 percent) say Obama is a Muslim, up from 11 percent in 2009. Obama is a Christian, but the number of people say Christian when asked his religion has gone down sharply, from 51 percent in 2008 to 34 percent today. And 43 percent say they don't know what religion the president follows.

Alan Cooperman, associate director of research for the Pew Forum, says, "I think overall the picture that we see is of uncertainty and confusion about the president and religion."

Cooperman also says, "When we simply ask people, 'Do you happen to know what is Barak Obama's religion?' it is only one-third of Americans who say he is a Christian. The largest single percentage, almost half of Americans, don't know what religion he is."

The survey also found there was a clear link between how people viewed the president's faith and how they viewed his political performance. Those who view Obama as Christian tended to have a very positive assessment of his job performance. Those who don't know his faith are split in their job approval ratings. And those who say the president is a Muslim give him a negative job approval rating.

But Dr. Clyde Wilcox, professor of government at Georgetown University, says what is driving the president's sinking approval ratings is the economy. "If the economy were resurrected from the dead like Lazarus, then you would see less of this," he said.

Wilcox added that because of the viral nature of the Internet, any ideas, wrong or right, about a politician's beliefs, can grow exponentially. Case in point: Sarah Palin's conservative evangelical beliefs became raw meat for liberals during her 2008 vice presidential campaign.

Two years later, a growing number of people see Obama as a Muslim.

"It's a troubling thing," Wilcox said. "I think it would be good for all of us to stop invading the president's spiritual privacy. We don't know what anyone's true faith is. It doesn't tell us about what their true core values are."

Cooperman speculates that people have more uncertainty about the president's faith because he's been less upfront about how he practices his religion. He doesn't attend church regularly, and there are no photos of him leaving a house of worship on Sunday morning with a Bible in hand.

"We really haven't heard a lot, he's not very public since he took office. The last time was the issue over Jeremiah Wright," Cooperman said.

Wright, the pastor of Trinity Baptist Church in Chicago, became a lightning rod for controversy in the 2008 presidential campaign. Obama, a longtime member of his church, distanced himself from Wright after snippets of sermon tapes emerged of the pastor saying inflammatory comments about America.

The Pew study also found that though the Republican party is viewed as friendlier toward religion than the Democratic party, both political camps lost ground in that category. In 2008, 52 percent viewed Republicans as being friendlier toward religion; today that number is down to 43 percent.

For Democrats, 2008 was a banner year. Their push to capture religious voters helped them appear more faith friendly with 38 percent of the people polled. But that number has slid to 26 percent today, back to where it was in 2006.

What this bodes for the 2010 midterm elections is hard to predict, Cooperman says. Most Americans, 61 percent, still think it's important for members of Congress to have strong religious beliefs, as compared to 34 percent who don't. Reading the tea leaves from the 2008 results can help. Exit polling data from that presidential election shows that the second biggest predictor for how someone will vote is religion. The first is race.
