Sorry Obama....We're not buying it anymore!

In The Matter of Tin-Eared Tone Deafness ..Posted on September 6, 2010 by Dave Poff

If it weren’t so critically important to America’s future, one might find himself laughing hysterically over news that the White House and the Democrats are in a full-on panic over their prospects in the 2010 midterm elections. Especially entertaining is the rationale on the part of some for the Left feeling the way it does about its dilemma.

CBS’ “Face the Nation” guest host Harry Smith opined that “the Obama administration is in a horrible position” and asked Politico executive editor Jim VandeHei this question: “Does the White House understand this?”:

“They get it. There’s panic. There’s concern,” VandeHei said. “The reality for this administration stinks, politically and practically, when it comes to the economy. You’re not going to be able to change that 9.6-percent unemployment figure. You can’t get anything from Congress in the next couple of months.”

No, Jim, the reality is that they’ve had two years to address the economy and unemployment, and all they have to show for their efforts is a worsened economy and even more dismal employment numbers. This Congress has, according to many, accomplished more than any since LBJ’s… legislatively…and they can not argue they need a little more time. They chose to use the time they were given to make things even worse than before they were put in the position of bringing us all that Hope and Change™ we were promised in ’08.

Now, they have to face the angry mob whose intention it is to show their displeasure with what has been done to them.

Congress had the opportunity to make “what they inherited from the previous administration” go away; to improve and enrichen the lives of the least among us. Instead of a laser-like focus on jobs and the improvement of our collective station in life, they chose to take over the private sector, they chose to go after the financial industry and punish them for their alleged greed, and they chose to force the health care and insurance industries to be reformed beyond all recognition. Along the way, they decided our freedoms and the founding principles of liberty were outdated, and needed to be stripped away so as to have no resemblance to the ones our Founding Fathers fought and died for so that we might be a free People.

Now, in a hail Mary pass from President Obama, we’re being asked for even more money to do that which has already been tried and shown to fail; 50 billion MORE stimulus-that-is-not-stimulus dollars to create jobs most of us do not do, or are not qualified to be hired for.

They didn’t listen to us then and they can’t hear us now because they are too busy scrambling at the 11th hour to buy 2 more years of our ignorance and our apathy with policy proposals they have already shown do not work. The real problem for Democrats now is that we aren’t buying what they’re selling anymore…and their time has run out.
